I am an independent scholar, writer, and civil society strategist focused on women’s leadership and democratic movements in authoritarian and post-authoritarian contexts, with a particular emphasis on Iran, Afghanistan, and the broader Middle East.
My work bridges rigorous research with real-world impact. I collaborate with grassroots women’s organizations, international NGOs, and policy communities to strengthen leadership capacity, sharpen strategy, and o sustainable democratic outcomes.
I am the founder of Women’s E-Learning in Leadership (WELL), a nonprofit organization that connects and collaborates with women in Iran and Afghanistan through online education, mentorship, and community-building programs.

Why Women’s Leadership Matters
Women are not peripheral to democratic change—they are central to it. In authoritarian contexts, women-led movements often sustain civic resistance, preserve social trust, and articulate inclusive visions of freedom and accountability. My work is grounded in the belief that democracy is built not only through institutions but also through people—especially women—who organize, lead, and imagine alternatives under conditions of repression.
